Help Wanted
Jimmy D. Brown
"Then saith He unto His disciples, The harvest truly is plenteous, but the labourers are few; Pray ye therefore the Lord of the harvest, that He will send forth labourers into His harvest."- Matthew 9:37-38

I remember those days well.

When I was in college, I often found myself looking for a better job. Seems like I responded to almost every "Help Wanted" sign that I saw. And, of course, I spent an hour or so almost every morning...

...looking over the classified ads in my local newspaper.

You see, that is where most employers place their advertisements when they are seeking help. They simply list the job opening, along with a brief description and qualifications the applicant should possess. And, of course, there was a contact person listed so that interested persons could follow up on the position.

My friends, you can turn to the classified ad section of your local newspaper and find out about the various opportunities available for your employment, that's true. But, there is a higher and greater One who is seeking willing workers today as well...

...His name is Jesus Christ.

You see, as I looked over the "classifieds" this morning in the Word of God, I noticed that there were many positions that are open to those interested in an opportunity to work for the Kingdom. In fact, I noticed that the Lord went so far as to say that the "labourers are few." And so, maybe it is time for you and I to take a fresh look at the classified ad section of God's Holy Word. As I said, there are many positions that need to be filled.

Interested?

Oh, I forgot to mention. Each of these positions has a salary description as well. It simply reads...

"Don't expect a monetary salary for your work...but just remember, the benefits and retirement are out of this world."

Yes, my friends, there are positions available today. Something for you to fill, something for me to fill. God is seeking those who will represent His kingdom, those who will "advertise" the Gospel, those who will pray and those who will do the "odd jobs" of the King of Kings. In fact, you and I are to fill ALL of those positions.

Jesus has something today for you to do. There is some specific thing that He has placed in your life, that only you can accomplish for His Kingdom. Read the Bible. Study the "classifieds." And when you do, you'll hear the Lord whisper to your heart...

..."Help Wanted."

Have a "Wonderful DAY in Christ,"
