DIE BIBEL (Version Luther 1912) Lizenz

Martin Luther's complete translation of the Holy Bible from the Hebrew and Greek texts was first published in 1534. It is our opinion that due to that time frame, all copyright's (if that concept existed) have expired on his work, and that all subsequent modifications to his chosen words to update them as the German language changed did not infer any new copyright on those changes. The translation work was his, and his alone, and anything else done to his words after that point was merely editing. The same is true for all electronic copies of those works, including this one.

This copy came from The On-Line Bible which is an excellent source for off-line Bibles. They have done a lot of good work in providing MicroSoft Window based bible research tools for the world, which can be downloaded for free, or purchased on CD-ROM for a nominal charge. The notes accompanying this Bible source indicate that it was prepared by Günter and Lilly Kappel, Hamilton, Ontario. Our heartfelt thanks to their effort in keying in the text of the German Bible. May their work aid German speaking people around the world. We have looked for a long time for a German Bible on the Net to fill that gap in our foreign language area and very much appreciate their work.
